This is the Guilford Art Center. It is the place where you are welcome to dream, create and experience art. These kinds of experiences become part of all of our lives and help shape the soul of our community.
We need your help.
Each year we offer more than 280 opportunities in classes alone for adults and children at our School to create something new in art.
The Center's Gallery is known and respected for its exhibitions. In 2009, three provocative exhibitions will explore the environment: one with art by shoreline children, another by local architects, and one by nationally-known contemporary artists. All exhibitions are free and everyone in the community is welcome.
Keeping up with our community's artistic dreams is important. Right now plans are being evaluated to add a digital lab and fiber and design center.
The Center also works to support itself financially through many kinds of events: Craft Expo on the Guilford Green, the Artistry holiday sale, and many smaller programs help.
Because we strive to keep school tuition affordable, sales in the gallery and event income do not cover all the expenses of the Center
It is your gift to the Annual Fund that makes up the difference.
Your financial gift helps with our operating and capital expenses but it also does more: It benefits your neighbors, friends, that child down the street, helping your community to thrive and to become richer, stronger and more culturally diverse.
