RUN AWAY WITH THE CIRCUS [workshop]

Spend a morning creating your own circus a la Alexander Calder. Using corks, springs, bits of wire, scraps of colorful fabric, lengths of colorful crepe paper, pipecleaners, clothespins, bottle caps, and more, you will make your own ringmaster, strong man, lion tamer, and dancing dogs. Find inspiration by visiting the exhibit, "Alexander Calder: The Paris Years," currently on view at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City (www.whitney.org). This class is for artists from four to ninety-four. Bring a shoebox and any other odd bits you would like to incorporate into your circus.
