LET'S SEE THE WORK: PHOTOGRAPHY SEMINAR

JEAN PERKINS, Visiting Artist
Eight Wednesdays, beginning January 14
6:30pm-8:30pm

This class is based on the premise that you have to do the work to become a good photographer. Dreaming about what you plan to do next with your camera will not get you there. During the first class each student will select a project with a goal(s) and make a commitment to work on the same project through out the semester. Each week students will place 8-10 photographs on the wall for open discussion amongst the group. The final week of class will be a mini exhibition with each student showing eight, beautifully made final images that coincide with individual assignments. This class is more about doing the work, exploring ideas, understanding how photographs communicate, and what it takes to create a body of work, than devotion to enhancing technical expertise. Class time will not be used for taking or printing photographs. For those who are comfortable with their cameras and their ability to print images who are not professional photographers.

Tuition $149.00
Members $129.00
