Fishing enthusiasts will learn to tie flies or improve their technique if they have previous experience. Materials provided for in-class tying and sources for materials will be discussed in class. Students will need scissors, bobbin and thread, hackle pliers and a small vise. A materials list will be provided in advance for the specific flies to be tied in class.

MOSAIC CREATIONS FOR THE GARDEN [workshop]

Learn the art of mosaic while creating something fun for your garden. Fabricate a mosaic mural over Plexiglass, and a mosaic gazing ball over an old bowling ball. The mural may be inset into a table, or hang on its own. Learn grouting techniques and explore mosaic materials. You may like your artworks so much that they find a spot inside your home instead of outside. Fee payable with tuition $15.00 Materials list provided.

Come twirl with us in this wonderful whirligig workshop. Each student will make an individual painted tin whirligig sculpture up to five feet tall on a pole that will spin in the wind. These pieces make a very special artistic statement in anyone's yard. Students learn how to cut tin and create images that are put together so that they spin. Material fee includes: Aluminum, pop rivets, enamel paints, poles, stainless steel rods, and brushes. Fee payable with tuition $25. Materials list provided.
